The County Limerick Foxhounds

Much of the talk in Irish hunting circles in recent seasons has
centred on the excellent performance of the County Limerick Foxhounds
under their young huntsman Will Bryer. These hounds have been showing
great drive and providing tremendous sport which regularly tests
the mettle of those who follow across their daunting bank and ditch

The
Cottesmore Hunt |
The Cottesmore Hunt, one of the famous shire packs, has for centuries
provided superb sport across Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and
Rutland. This video shows the unique attraction of hunting in
the shires. See what life is like in the Cottesmore Kennels. Witness
hounds hunting and foxes breaking from coverts such as Priors
Coppice, immortalised through hunting scenes and stories. Hang

The
Duhallow Foxhounds |
The history of the Duhallow Foxhounds can be traced
back to 1745. In this video you will be taken deep into the heart
of Duhallow country and see these wonderful old English hounds
in full cry. This world famous pack is full of drive giving their
mounted followers a considerable challange to keep in touch accross
the varied countryside of Country Cork.
Fox hunting is probably more popular in Cork than in any other
county in Ireland with the local population having a good knowledge
and understanding of the sport giving rise to a healthy rivalry
between packs.

Scarteen-The
Black and Tans |
The legendary Scarteen Black and Tans have now been captured on
film. Their distinctive colour, voice and hunting country sets them
apart from any other pack. Owned by the Ryan family, written records
date back to 1640 with Chris Ryan MFH the ninth recorded generation
of his family to hunt these hounds.
This film leaves the viewer in no doubt as to the sheer thrill and
excitement of hunting the Scarteen hounds over some of the best
bank and ditch country in Ireland - Superb shots of these hounds
in glorious full cry and all the action from a field of riders maintaining
a tradition spanning so many generations.

Hunting
in County Limerick with the Limerick Harriers |
The Limerick Harriers were origianally formed in
the 1860's and changed quary to the fox in the 1950's but retained
their original name. From arriving at the meet to the "craic"
in the pub afterwards, this video is a fly on the wall account
of a great day. It has fantastic shots of foxs breaking cover,
excellent hound work and superb cross country action.
Take a journey over Limericks famous banks and ditches with the
Limerick Harriers and huntsman Michael Buckley who provided the
best of sport for thirty three seasons in this most demanding
country.
