Hi Fiona, I'm really just looking for a decent riding horse
thats been broken and is quiet on roads although I'm well used
to dealing with a few crazies. I've have trained horses in the
past so a lively horse wouldn't really be a problem either. Mainly
I like to hack out and do a small bit of jumping and some small
competitions. I'm 9stone so anything over 15hh is ideal. I'm not
fussy about the breed or colour. Just a nice horse that I can

Re StephenD : if your looking to take up hunting the best thing
to do is find a well manered, experienced hunter/x-country horse
to practice jumping with for a while. Try x-country and even a
few small walls first before you dive right into a hunt. Saying
that, you can also go on a "drag hunt" this is a non
blood sport which is very well organised, and at nearly every
jump/wall you have the option to take an easier route if you feel
your not quiet up to it... East Clare Harriers do drag hunting
and i think they will be hunting Oranmore over the next two weeks.
(not sure of date yet). Hope this helps. |
